Charissa Thompson
Thompson quit FOX Sports in the year 2010 and was able to double as host of both Versus and Yahoo Sports. She hosted Versus' NHL studio coverage and also recorded web-based video for the highly trafficked Yahoo platform, leading its presence at some of the most prestigious sporting events like the 2010 Winter Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl XLV as well as the BCS National Championship. She became a popular host across both of these areas. This made her join ESPN on August 11, 2011. In this role she hosted the recently created afternoon program "Numbers Never lie" for the network. She joined the "SportsNation" channel in the month of July. The show was an enormous success which she continued to host until May 2013, in which time she returned home to Los Angeles to launch FS1. Thompson is a passionate athlete, and she has shown the flexibility needed for her to transition into the entertainment industry. In June 2014, after several part-time jobs Thompson was named permanent co-host to the Hollywood evening news magazine "Extra". In that capacity the magazine filmed its segments at Universal Studios while also staffing events like awards and other public gatherings on a regular basis.
